This course offers two days of tuition on Tuesdays and/or Thursdays during the months of September, October, November, April, May and June. If possible, in groups of two or three.

These take place at the Textile Studios behind the shop in Steeple Ashton.

 

During the course, you will complete the warp winding for a scarf, dress and thread the loom, then start weaving using one or two simple twill patterns. The loom can then be taken home for a maximum of 4 weeks in order to complete the scarf. A deposit of £50 will be required if the loom is taken home, or arrangements can be made for you to weave at the studios on Tuesdays or Thursdays. Please make sure you set aside time for weaving after the course, as I hope the scarf will be completed within a couple of weeks. 

 

Over the two days the basic skills of weaving will be covered. Also, how to read pattern drafts, and planning a project will be touched upon. The cost, including use of loom, loom equipment, course booklet, tea or coffee throughout the day and yarn, is £120.00.
